Birthdays, Anniversaries and Weddings

The Dublin Irish Festival is not just a place to come and see the best of Irish dance, music, sports, art and culture, it’s also quickly becoming a favorite of many to celebrate their birthdays, anniversaries, family reunions, and even weddings.

Engagement-08

Many of you probably remember the engagement from a few years ago, or the wedding from last year. This year we have three weddings planned.

Recently on our facebook page, many have shared their stories. Below are a few.

DIF ‘07 was a reunion for me and my best friend from high school that I hadn’t seen in nearly 15 years! Haven’t seen her since then, but we’ve already got plans to meet up next weekend! THANKS DIF!!!
-Robin Brown

Ever since my parents invited my aunt and uncle to the festival a few years ago, it has become our yearly unofficial family reunion site. So if you see a group of people wearing matching t-shirts, say ‘Hi!”
-Chuck McGroarty

We’re celebrating our 40th anniversary there this year on Sunday!

Volunteers & Beverage Pourers

Have you driven by Coffman Park lately – if so, you’ll have no doubt noticied that the Celtic Rock stage is up and more are going up as we speak. It really is almost here…

Don’t forget if you are signed up to volunteer or pour beer, there are trainings starting this Saturday. Both will take place in the Dublin Community Recreation Center. Volunteer training is at 10 a.m. and beverage training is either 9:30 a.m. or 11 a.m. The next trainings will be held on Tuesday 28th.

The other benefit of going this Saturday is that you get a sneak peak at the merchandise. We will be set up in the lobby of the rec center and selling all of the new 2009 gear.  On Tuesday at our Board meeting and I immediately bought and wore the rest of the night my new sweatshirt – maybe I’ll model it again during Saturday’s training. If you are not going to training, you can still stop by the rec center and get the first choice of the merch- new items include golf balls and baby onseies. You can buy some of this on the site but the full line can only be found at the training and at the Festival.

If you haven’t signed up yet to volunteer- I know Saturday night always needs some help!
